I always love a good power rankings write up, especially one with colorful commentary. Mark Titus did it again with this weeks power rankings. Oh and the inclusion of this gif:
It’s hard to argue against KU right now. They beat Ohio State pretty handily (#7 at the time I believe) at home. McLemore is legit. I’m just excited Big 10 play is finally here, 6 teams ranked 2, 5, 8, 9, 11, and 18. It is going to be one hell of a season.
Welcome to Your Guide to All Things Formspring. In this blog, we’ll highlight you - our users, show you how to discover more on Formspring, and give you a behind the scenes look at what it’s like to work at Formspring.
My name is Miranda and I was the third person hired at Formspring….
Congrats to my friends Preston & Casan who launched their own wine label “CE Cellars”. They were fed up with the pretentiousness that comes with wine tasting and learning about wine.
To change the status quo they are launching “Casual Entertainment” Cellars with two wines, Bash & Levity. The launch event is April 28th and knowing this crew it will be awesome. You can purchase tickets here and check out their Facebook page here.
Laura and Mike from Formspring show us both the serious side and the sunnier side of their, as per their own words: “light blue button down shirt (with sleeves rolled up), dark wash jeans, attempt to make sexy face” memo moment.
What do you think is the next big thing in the the startup world?
I'm particular found of wearable technology, smarter homes, and big data.
Things like FitBit, FuelBand, Google Glass, etc are all exciting to me. I think we will also start to have smarter homes, everything will be connected. With these advancements also comes a ton of data being produced by computers, sensors, etc. We should be able to make smart decisions about our health, energy/cost savings in our homes, and more!
Will people see this as ridiculous 5 years from now or obvious?
Obvious, but not in its current form. There is definitely a trend of wearable technology, this will only continue. Nike has the Nike+ product line and their new Fuel Band. FitBit, Zeo, WakeMate, etc have all come out with devices for the "quantified self". Pebble raised $10 million from Kickstarter for a watch that integrates with your phone via Bluetooth.
Google Glass looks pretty bad ass. I just hope the "fashion" evolves with the tech over the next 5 years. Perhaps Google could work with Oakley, Ray Ban, Warby Parker, etc. to bring a more attractive product to market.
